cheese crescents

If you want to rejoice your family with tasty and warm crescents, here is our suggestion:

Ingredients you need to prepare home-cooked crescents are the following: Cheese – 200 gr, a teaspoon of sugar, a teaspoon of salt, a flat teaspoon of baking soda, 20 gr. fresh yeast, 250 ml milk, 250 ml yoghurt at room temperature, 3 eggs, 100 ml oil, and flower as much as it absorbs to knead  soft, non sticking dough. This is the way to prepare your home-baked. Mix in a bowl the milk and the yoghurt; add the sugar, the smashed yeast, and 4-5 soupspoons of flour. Stir the mixture and cover the bowl with a piece of cloth and leave it in a warm place for 10-15 minutes. This time is needed to bubble the yeast and to get a leaven. Sift the flour, do a well and put there the baking soda and the salt. Beat up the two eggs and the white of the third one with a fork. When the leaven is ready, add to it the beaten eggs and the oil. Fill this mixture in the well and knead the dough, as you take little by little the flour. Knead it till you feel that the dough has stopped sticking on your hands, but is still soft and smooth. Replace it in a bigger vessel, coated with oil. Cover it and leave in a warm place to rise till triple its volume /it happens for about 30-40 minutes, if temperature is suitable/. Divide the risen dough into 6 approximately equal parts, form balls, and roll every ball in form of a circle about a half centimeter thick. Cut out the sheets for your crescents at 8 triangles, as shown on the picture. In the end of every triangle put some smashed cheese and roll on from the large to the narrow part. The as prepared home-cooked crescents arrange at small distance in a tin, covered with baking paper. Cover them and leave for 10 minutes to rise again. When they become ready to bake, coat them with the yolk of the third egg where you’ve added some oil. If you want, sprinkle your crescents with some sesame, poppy-seeds or peeled sunflower seeds. Bake in a preheated oven to 180 degrees till golden brown. These home-baked cheese crescents – warm or cool, served for breakfast or snack, are an incredible delicacy for all your family.
